OpenStudy (isaiah):

hey does anyone know what a hypotenuse is and what is the formula to find it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a hypotenuse is the longest side of a right angle triangle, a common formula used to find it is the pythegorus theorem where the hypotenuse is labelled "c" other sides "a" and "b". The formula is \[a ^{2}+b ^{2}=c ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's the side opposite the right angle in a right triangle.

OpenStudy (isaiah):

ok so if the legs of a right triangle ae 33 ft. squared and 56 ft. squared the lenght of the hypotenuse is 4225 ft. squared right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The hypotenuse is the square root of 4225 ft.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

33^2 + 56^2 = 65^2 So hypotenuse is 65 ft.
