OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the fifth root of -32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You all need to stop that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm lazy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why do my posts keep disappearing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're not the only one. But yes. The point is, that if that was all that was needed a calculator suffices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they disappear because they aren't helpful.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, if that equation editor was easier to use, I would use it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I never use it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt[5]{-32}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just easier to type than to use the silly interface.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to keep in mind, some people are actually just trying to verify their answers. Not everybody necesarily needs an explanation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They can verify them via a calculator, or wolframalpha, or some other computational device that doesn't require another human on the other end wasting their time/brain power.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a site for getting help, not getting answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some people need help verifying that as well. They may want to make sure that what they entered into their calcs were correct as well. Some students are worried that they may have entered something incorrectly . Sometimes you have to think from the perspective of the student.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm afraid my sympathies are more with Polpak on this one, heromiles...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wanted Polpak to respond to this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not nobody else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thread is open...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some people think this site is a place where they can get others to do their homework for them. If all it is is 'how do I use my calculator' they can certainly ask that. But they don't. Ever. You and I both know that's not why the same kinds of questions are posted time and again by the same people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're either very naive, or intentionally obfuscating.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can someone explain how to find the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyway, what can we usefully say about the fifth root of -32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not arguing against the post the same questions again and again. This particular poster has only posted one question, not multiple ones

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, and you DIDN'T help them at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aodfuj2, what are the factors of -32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nevermind, I think I got it. (-2)(-2)(-2)(-2)(-2) = - 32 and that's how you solve these problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bravo!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes exactly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tsk tsk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simple answer; If they truly need verification, they would say "Is the square root of area really pi^2 to the dx of 4?" No just "square root of area ??????"
