okay lets continue here
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok :) where di u get 6 from the last question ? that is what is confusing me .
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait that was hours ; this is diffrent .
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
okay so initially right:
in 1995 -> 197mln
So A = 197

yes i got p=197e^kt
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
in 2002.. now how many years passed from 1995 till 2002? 7, therefore:
P(7) = 201
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
solve for k
OpenStudy (anonymous):
p(7) o.O ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh 7 years lol

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
yea 7 years.. now plug that into the equation 7 for t and 201 for P(t) and solve for k
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so what is 7 ? e?
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
P=197e^(kt)
okay here:
e is NOT a variable it is a constant which is about 2.918 (euler's constant)
t and k are unknowns P is a function of t
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
So:
P=197e^(kt)
P(7) = 201
201 = 197e^(k*7)
201 = 197e^(7k) solve for k
OpenStudy (anonymous):
divide both side ? or subtract?

ln7=ln197a^k7?
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
look at the previous problem:
divide both sides by 197:
1.0203 = e^(7k)
take Ln on both sides:
Ln1.0203 = Lne^(7k)
Ln1.0203 = (7k)Lne
Lne =1 <= IDENTITY!
7k = Ln1.0203
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
Ln(A*B) = LnA+LnB
Ln(e^a) = a * Lne = a * 1 = a
Ln(A/B) = LnA-LnB
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hey lov eim sorry but my class is over :( monday:) ? ill be looking foawrd to u :) bye :) have a good weekend :)
OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
so now:
7k = Ln1.0203
k = Ln1.0203/7 = 0.0029
