Example A: 2n + 3 = 13 Example B: n + 3 = 13 Which example is a one-step equation? How is solving a two-step equation like solving one-step equation? How is solving them different?

what math teacher thought this up? i guess you solve the second one in "one step" via \[n+3=13\] \[n=13-3=10\]

the term "one step" is not a term of art. it must be something taught in math ed classes. the second one is solved in "two steps" via \[2n+3=13\] STEP ONE \[2n=10\] STEP TWO \[n=\frac{10}{2}=5\]
