Why is the horizontal asymptote of f:x--> (2x+4)/(x-1) y=2 but not y=6? because doesn't (2x+4)/(x-1) become (2(x-1)+6)/(x-1)???

OpenStudy (trancenova):

2(0-1)+6 = 4/-1. no asymptote however 2x+4=0 x=2 so that is where the asymptote is. You are forgetting that when the equation is in this: 2(x-1)+6 form the +6 is not the x-incept

okay whoops sorry I typed the question in the wrong way but I understand now thankyou anyway!
