What is Sin F, Sin D, Tan D, Tan F? I am gonna post the picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here's the picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sin F = 5/13 Sin D = 12/13 Tan D = 12/5 Tan F = 5/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin = opposite/ hypotenuse, tan = opposite / adjacent so for example sin F = 5/13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse Cos = Adjacent / Hypotenuse Tan = Opposite / Adjacent Just keep in mind these are from the point of view of the angle. SOH CAH TOA will be your friend in trig.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a mnemonic for sin, cos, tan is SOH-CAH-TOA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And what about Cos D? I need to remember SOH-CAH-TOA.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no - ill take a look now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok Then :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cos D would be 5/13. Look at angle D, find the adjacent line which is 5 and put it over the hypotenuse which is 13.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some people have trouble identifying the adjacent side - one way is find hypotenuse - the longest side, the opposite of the angle is obvioius - the other is the adjacent

Here's the picture.

Thank you! I'll try that next time!
