Current and voltage are not normally considered vectors. The product of I and V is power, so it looks like you are being asked to calculate the power dissipated in a resistance

In AC circuits V and I are treated like vectors - called phasors. Is that what you are talking about? If so, P = IV times the cosine of the angle between them
