Why is there bone pain in Osteomalacia?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It causes bone softening, which means they are under much more stress because they cannot rely on strong bone structure. As a result the sensory neurones in bones send off pain signals. I'm struggling to think of a good analogy, but here is one in the meantime. Imagine you have two tubes. One is made of rock and one is made of jello. Now put a bowling ball on top of each of them. The rock tube is sturdy and can maintain the load without any change in it's shape. The jello tube wiggles about since it's structure is not sturdy.
