Anyone can suggest me a good book on quantum mechanics and particle physics??
It depends what level you are wanting. If you want a popular book to sink your teeth into, then check out "the New Cosmic Onion" by Frank Close, which deals with particle physics. For an introduction to quantum mechanics on a popular scale, you may want to check out "In Search of Schrodingers cat" by John Gribbin. If you are looking for a more technical book (Undergraduate level), then I recommend "Quantum Physics of Atoms, Molecules, Solids, Nuclei and Particles 2nd edition" by Eisberg and Resnick.
am just 15 years old!! so i need some basics first!!! =) any book on strings?!
LOL, you wont be wanting the undergraduate book for a while yet then. The best popular scuence book out there for superstrings is "the Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene, but it can become a bit tricky towards the end. It does do an excellent job on Relativity and quantum theory though at the start of it. He also did a series of TV documentaries based upon the book. You can find them here http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/physics/elegant-universe-einstein.html (but i think they are only available in the US). Or you can access them through google video here http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-1322493346942339345. Another good book would be Superstrings and other things by Carlos I Calle. You can view a full preview pdf copy here http://gen.lib.rus.ec/get?md5=09544bee653e5e23d93eec208c3abe08. It takes you through a all of physics with minimal mathematics, and would be appropriate for high school level physics, and is a good primer covering the basics. "In Search of schrodingers Cat" is also a good for covering the basics and history of Quantum mechanics at the popular level.
abi if u get it give it to me !
yeah :P :P found out so soon huh ?~!!`
