as long as u r alive or healthy, you are aware of things around you....you are conscious when very sick or dead, most receptors of inputs from the surroundings shut down........you become unconscious consciousness has to do with our ability to take inputs, process them....

The ability to receive inputs and process them is not the defining feature of consciousness, as this is something a computer can do. There are philosophical proofs that, although some debate the soundness of the argument, show that computation alone is not sufficient for understanding, or consciousness. You should read into philosophy of the mind, and the Chinese room argument. Consciousness is a property of a system of neurons firing together. I like the analogy that "wetness" is not a property of any single water molecule but a property of a collection of interactions between water molecules.
