need urgent help solving 5x^2-2y^2= 4 by implicit differentiation and solve for dy/dx

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Use implicit differentiation: 10x - 4y(dy/dx) = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then does dy/dx equal (-10x/ -4y) ? ? ? or can it be reduced further?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

-4y(dy/dx)=-10x (dy/dx) = 5x/(2y), now solve the original equation for y and substitute

THANKS SOO MUCH I HAVE one more question though I am going to post it right now separately.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

okay

OpenStudy (zarkon):

I would stop here (dy/dx) = 5x/(2y) and not go any further

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Zarkon u cant do that, u need to finish it all

OpenStudy (zarkon):

yes you can..it is finished..unless you want a final answer in two parts
