(2a 2 +a + 3)÷ (a - 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright. did you try factorizing the numerator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah... just cant figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. 3 times 2 is 6 3 minus 2 is 1 do you see where I am going with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure the problem is written correclty?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

im also having a doubt on that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nooo the problem is written wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2a^ 2 +a + 3)÷ (a - 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops. are you sure it is +3 and not -3 at the end?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if its -3 at the end then the problem makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a-1)(2a+3)/(a-1)= 2a+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. so then it makes sense. as I said, 2 times -3 = -6 and 3-2 = 1 can you take it from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the a-1 factors divide off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, what did you get when you tried factoring? and do you know how factoring works?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AHHHHH HELP ME:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to answer my questions, otherwise I am not in a position to help you.
