OpenStudy (anonymous):

find an equation of the line containing the given pair of points (-7,-9) and (-1,-8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first find the slope, then use the point slope formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the slope is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the slope: (y(1) - y(2))/(x(1) - x(2))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops, wrong, switch the 2's and 1's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have asked 100 of question like this, and people have given you the slope formula over a 100 times.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand what x(1) and x(2) are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should be teaching us how to do these kinds of problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then do not help me, that simple..no need to be rude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not rude, realistic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, well i'm not going to help you either if you aren't going to try. we are really just trying to help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whatever then, dont

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guy, just try plugging your information into the formula! we want you to succeed!! that's what we're here for!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, look, your points that you have written up there are in this form: (x,y) since there are two of them, we refer to one as point (1) and the other as point (2). so use the y value from one point, then the y value for the second point. do the same thing with the x-values
