Rob was negotiating a new contract with is team. He wanted $700,000 for the year and an additional $1800 for each game. His team was offering him $600,000 for the year, and 5000 for every game started. How many starts would he need to make in order to earn more with the teams offer? PLEASE HELP ME!

You can set up equations. 700,000 + 1800x 600,000 + 5000x If you equate them and find x, x will the be number of games that Rob will have to start in order for him to make the same amount with both contracts. The number of starts should be bigger than x. In your case, x is a decimal, so the number of starts should be the next integer.

i see what you are getting at, yet i still dont know how to solve.

Did you equate them? Now you have to bring the variable to one side and bring the constant to the other.

Oh!!!! *light bulb* Thanks!!!!!!!

Wait, so there is no equal sign?

What do you mean? For this question, it should be enough to write something like "Rob needs to start ______ games in order to make more money with the team's offer."
