how do u do the equation 2x+10y=3 (2,3)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like the equation of a line this one is perpendiclular

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ok... the shortcut is just to swap out the numbers in front of your x and y like this: 10x + 2y = n ; now change the operator to its opposite 10x - 2y = n; insert the values from your given point to determine "n"

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the long version is to determine the slope of the equation; flip it and negate it; reformat an equation using it, and adjust for the given point

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but since the slope of ax+by=c is just -a/b; just swap out a for b and change the operator
