Help!! In trig, how does one determine the intervals? For example, If the question states to find the exact value of sin with the square root of negative 3 over 2 and the angle then must lie between negative Pi over 2 and Pi over 2. How do we know this interval?????. I have a unit circle in front of me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-pi/2 is the bottom of the circle, pi/2 is the top of the unit circle, you would get an infinite number of answers if you didn't limit it to those answers that are in the interval ...whatever. Did you mean -√3/2? or actually √(-3)/2 The angle is -60 and 60, or -pi/3 and pi/3 in radians. Hope that helps

thanks
