\[\log_{4}3x+\log_{4}2=\log_{4}24\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you add logarithms of the same base, you can simplify those terms by combining their arguments to get:\[\log_{4} 3x+\log_{4}2 = \log_{4}6x \]now you can solve 6x =24 so x=4

Thanks nothingmaster! :)

No problem! To make that clear, when you add logs with the same base, you multiply the arguments together, when you subtract them you divide.
