when a force or acceleration acting in an oblique direction to the direction of velocity then both the magnitude and direction of velocity may be changed...... is it true or wrong n first tell me also here wat it means oblique direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The fact that a force is acting upon a body at all will change its velocity, since velocity is speed and direction, then it is safe that. Oblique would mean at an angle to the direction of motion. So in this case it will most likely change its speed and direction. if it were applied perfectly parallel to teh direction of motion, it would only change its speed not its direction. If applied at right angles it would change its direction, but not its speed.

Ignore the "then it is safe that", it is the remains of an edited sentence that wasn't fully edited
