OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are "positive integers"

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

+1, +2, +3, +4.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Integers divide into negative integers, 0 and positive integers. So non negative integers would be 0,1,2,3,4...

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

She is asking for "POSITIVE INTERGERS"

OpenStudy (vijay):

\[a _{n} = a _{n-1} +1 , a _{1} = 1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@saifoo I wasn't querying your answer, just adding a bit of "color" :-)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

OIC.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nothing wrong with color :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Positive & negative integers are just two sides of the same coin. Another way to think of it (probably the best way) is just two different directions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@physopholy U can have your cake and eat it if you think of numbers as vectors, they have magnitude AND direction.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsTuhzeS-BE 20 secs in lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that's what I was getting at. However, I'm not sure that our friend knows of vectors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Everything you need to know about vectors is in the video :P lolol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Trouble is they keep forgetting to teach students how to multiply vectors.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And spend far too much time adding them.
