using the slope-form how do i write an equation for a line perpendicular to y=-2x=10 with the points (3,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=-2x=10 this part doesnt make sense. can you check it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It has two equal signs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=1/2 x + 5/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says that i have to write an equation that perpendicular to y=2x-10 with points (3,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the lines are perpendicular, the slope of the second line is the negative inverse of the first line, or -1/2. Since you know the slope, you can find another point, like (5,3). If you know two points and the slope, then you can find the equation of the line, which is y=-1/2x+11/2
