To what extent can organisations minimize counterproductive or deviant behavior? Discuss
I'm a big fan of Daniel Pink's book Drive. It describes how organizations can align their policies in ways that appeal to people's internal motivation to create good work, do the right thing, and thinking outside the box (which is often a good and useful thing). If some problems arise in an organization as a result of push-and-pull conflicts between the leadership and the other members of the organization, some of the strategies in the book might be a graceful way to avoid a lot of this conflict while building a positive environment. You'd probably need other resources, though, if the problem is a small minority of folks who are really determined to act in a deviant way. The book doesn't really discuss this. Maybe other people would have good resources in mind for something like this?
