Here's a classic puzzle. You're a contestant on a game show. The host directs your attention to 3 big red doors, which are completely indistinguishable. Behind one of the doors is a brand new sports car, and behind the other two are goats. When you select a door, the host then opens one of the other doors, revealing a goat. He then asks you if you want to stick with the door you chose originally, or switch to the remaining closed door. What should you do, and why?
For example, you pick door A. The host opens up door C, revealing a goat, and gives you the option of staying with door A, or switching to door B.
You should switch to the other door. Reasoning is you have a 1/3 chance of picking the car initially and 2/3 chance of picking a goat initially. If you pick the goat initially and the other goat is revealed, then the other door must be the car. So 2 out 3 times by switching will win you the car.
We have a winrar!
