Can someone walk me through the steps to find the answer to this: √2x times √x+1 the answer is: x > or equal to 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what exactly is the question? Do you want to find the answer to an inequality, or solve???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Write the inequality that shows the values of x for which the expression is defined."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooooooooooh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cannot take the square root of a negative number. so since you have \[\sqrt{x}\] you know \[x\geq0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can't take the square root of a negative number. And so x is >= to 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes,but how did you get that, the x>= 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, since x cannot be negative x must be equal to zero or greater
