A bacteria population triples every 12 days. What is a possible equaiton for its growth?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

bacteria run off of the Pert equation for continuous growth

OpenStudy (amistre64):

whenever you have a scalar like: doubles, triples, half ... we can turn to the fact that the amount we start with has no real bearing on the equation for a tripled amount in 12 days we simple determine the growth rate as: ln(3)/12 = r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So f(t)=a*(1/3)^t/12 OR (3)^t OR (3)^t/12 OR (3)^-t/12?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a*(1/3)^t/12 (3)^t (3)^t/12 (3)^-t/12? ....... i cant make sense of any of these options
