This might be easy for some of you but I have no clue? Which are rational, irrational, or complex... (9)^1/2+8 oi +12 1984.09275 27i 3 Im not sure??? Thanks --Jason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok 1st u have to know the definition of each rational numbers are any of the numbers u are familiar with: 1,2,3... etc irrational numbers contain i and \[i=\sqrt{-1}\] its irrational because it cannot be done by normal rules complex numbers contain part rational and part irrational so has a rational number and has an i in it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all are complex first, second, third and fifth are rational second and last are integers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excuse me i made a mistake. first, second, third and fifth are integers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unfortunately this line "its irrational because it cannot be done by normal rules" is incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

integers are \[\{...,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,...\}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I suppose rational is just integer/integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think he meant to write i + 12 for the 2nd 1 and sry i was trying to explain in easy way. ill leave it to u tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rational number are of the form \[\frac{a}{b}\] where a and b are integers and \[b\neq 0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and a+ ib is complex...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any repeating or terminating decimal is rational

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"irrational" means CANNOT be expressed in the form \[\frac{a}{b}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

REAL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

encompasses all rationals and irrationals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-) lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and finally "COMPLEX" is any number of the form \[a+bi\] where a and b are real and \[i=\sqrt{-1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

censored!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

encompretricees means "encompasses"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

en + instruments for direction finding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

retrice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\ecompasses\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know what i was trying to write. speaking of which, what is a cinetrice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or something like that i saw referred to several times today and never heard of it before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is going on? why can i not type encompasses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Type a+s+s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

holy moly it is not me!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Type a+s+s without the pluses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what on earth? e n c o m p a s s e s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

retrice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe it was c l a s s they were trying to type

OpenStudy (anonymous):

class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sob gets through

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is what that was! god all mighty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have to protect the innocent...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they were saying i am taking a c l a s s and it came out i am taking a class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wtf?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

administrator?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I reckon the innocents know more than I do...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

flutterit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i even googled it! what a moron i am. i thought it was some on line system or maybe something they use in ireland

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can guess flutterit, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What a bunch of horses asses...
