how do i find the side of a 30, 60, 90 triangle given one side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*the sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use sin or cos

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With trig or without?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

congrats on 60 estudier!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The side opposite the 30 degree angle is 1. The side opposite of 60 is sqrt 3. The hypotenuse is 2.

Gracias, amigo..:-)

Since you're talking similar triangles, you can scale those values. Those come from the unit circle.

use the force ... the triforce ...

Since you're talking similar triangles, you can scale those values. Those come from the unit circle. Why would we want to scale them?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

an equilateral triangle has every angle equal to 60 degrees consider the sides to be of length 2; and bisect the triangle in half this gives us a 60-30-90 with a hypot of 2; and a base of 1+1 pythag it to get the other leg of sqrt(3)
