Simplify. Your answer should contain only positive exponents. x^3 times x^2y^3/2x^3y^2 ? Help

OpenStudy (gw2011):

(x^3)[(x^2)(y^3)/2x^3y^2] This can be simplified by doing some cancellations The (x^3) in the numerator can cancel with the (x^3) in the denominator The (y^3) in the numerator can cancel with the (y^2) in the denominator to give you a y in the numerator Now you are left with (x^2)(y) in the numerator and 2 in the denominator Therefore, the answer is: x^2y/2=(1/2)(x^2y)
