Which property of equality justifies the statement if x – 2 = 9, then x = 11? Answer Addition Property of Equality Symmetric Property of Equality Transitive Property of Equality Multiplication Property of Equality

OpenStudy (zion):

Transitive Property of Equality

OpenStudy (zion):

a poor guess of mine. hahahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

addition. you can add both sides by 2 & the equality is not disturbed.

Addition Property of Equality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

agreed. or subtraction property of equality. but it's the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right. Zion, since you mention transitivity, le'me tell you that it goes like this.. if a equals b .. and b equals c.. then a equals c. thats transitivity.

OpenStudy (zion):

coz i thought if u transposed -2 its already transitivity. whahahaha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont tramspose. you add the additive-inverse of it to both sides. it's not about throwing it over board to the other side. :D

OpenStudy (zion):

i see.
