What is the additive inverse of 58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you need to "add" to 58 to make it 0? x+58 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wasnt asking you! lolol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the answers given are 1/58 , -58 , 58, and 1+ 58 ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I get it -58 + 58 = o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its -58.

Don't you hate that, Joe? Anyhow, the additive identity is 0. That means that no matter what you start with, if you add 0, you get exactly what you started with. The additive inverse of something means whatever you add to that thing to get the identity. So whatever number x I have, the additive inverse is -x.

ok. Thank you
