A loop moves from the left to right into a magnetic field that is pointing into the page. Now, according to Lenz's law, this would cause gain of magnetic field going out of the page.. and creating a counterclockwise current. How is that? I'm trying to do it with the right hand rule, but I keep getting clockwise.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it happens only when the magnetic flux changes in the loop.if the magnetic field is uniform then no counterclockwise current is produced.it is based on conservation of energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ther wont be induced curent if the magnetic field is extending endlessly.but if it is present only in aspecified region and the loop is entering then magnetic field through loop increases.to oppose this a counter cloakwise current is induced so that a new magnetic field coming out of the page is created.
