The function T(t) = 0.02t^4 − 0.3t^2 + 27, where 0<=t<=2, represents the temperature in Fahrenheit (°F) recorded during the period from noon to 2:00 p.m. on a certain day. Find the average temperature during this period.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you want the average temperature, then you are to find it by the mean value that represents all of them in a interval( just like when you want the mean value of 2 and 5 you sum them and divide by the amount of numbers which is two, so to get three as the mean value. You integrate in a interval and then divide by its the length) so Average Temperature=\[(\int\limits_{0}^{2}0.02t⁴-0.3t² +27 )/(2-0)\]=54.928

I think that might be wrong. All the possible choices are between 20 and 27

I'm so sorry, I kind of confused signs and also forgot to divide by two .....the answer is 26.664
