If a question says to create an equation using the ordered pairs (1,1) and (3,4)..What would you do? First STEP: Find M (slope) HOW? Use the equation (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) You are given to ordered pairs: (1,1) (x1,y1) and (3,4) (x2,y2) Plug into the equation (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (4-1)/(3-1) = M 3/2 is your slope. Now we need to find the equation for these ordered pairs using teh equation (y -y1) =m (x -x1) You can pick any one of the ordered pairs that are given to you; In this case: (3,4) OR (1,1) to plug in as (x1,y1) Lets say I picked (1,1) - Doesnt matter which one though Since you already have the slope, plug it in! (y-y1) = m(x-x1) (y - 1) = 3/2(x - 1) Distribute 3/2 to (x-1) = (y-1) = 3/2x - 3/2 Now bring teh one to the other side (by adding it) y = 3/2x -1/2 Now you got your equation in y = mx + b format ;) your done! PS., I luv you guys too ;)
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know these steps Katrinaaaaaaaaa cafeeeeeeee
Your supposed to know it Zakau! Your in college!! xDD
kaif these are simple high school steps
It was for a student. He did not understand how to solve simlar questions. However, there are always challenge questions we can answer. The questions posted range from a variety of difficulty levels. There also people here who have majors in math.
People from all over teh world do their best and beyond their ability to help people with their questions to the maximum of their extent.
okk
and by the way Sahil..These aren't even HS problems..The could also be middle school (7-8th grade) if your taking advanced level math. Don't be hesitant to try out the site. Take the try and never hurts if it benefits you.
