is it true that charles darwin admit that this evolution and natural selection theory is wrong during his old age?

i' like to share what i've found on net Is the theory of evolution a fact? I'd like to emphasize upfront that – despite many claims – evolution (Darwin's theory of evolution) is NOT a fact. Neither evolution (or creation) is a natural law or a scientific fact, each is merely a model. What does this mean? The process of evolution (just as the act of creation) cannot be observed or repeated, so both models remain unproved by science. Therefore neither can be called a natural law (such as the law of gravity or the laws of thermodynamics, which describe well proved and observed behavior subject to laws of nature) nor a scientific theory (which requires the possibility and evidence of repeated observations). So evolution – just as creation – is only a model used to explain the observations in the world as we know it. It is not a fact, not a natural law, not even a scientific theory, but just a model!

I know that you just wanted to insert your philosophical opinion into this forum, but I don't think this is the appropriate venue. This is a place for students to get help with science - philosophy is a different category. Now regarding your question - I have never heard that Darwin dismissed his own theory on his deathbed, but it sounds plausible. Regardless, Darwin no longer believing in his theory doesn't disprove it - all that it does is point out that human beings are mortal and that death is scary and that religious groups hated Origin of Species because it supposedly contravened The Bible and probably told him he was going to Hell. And no, that doesn't convince me The Bible is right. There is plenty of evidence for evolution; all you have to do is look at progressive antibiotic resistance in bacteria or pesticide resistance in insects. These groups of creatures have short enough generational periods that we can directly observe them adapting to their environments through natural selection in a process conventionally called "Evolution".

Evolution is indeed an observable process. Darwin himself noted in one of his notebooks that after an especially harsh winter, only certain types of birds survived to the spring in his yard out of the entire population of birds that were present months earlier. There are large thinktanks that make it their entire mission to disprove evolution, but this is impossible because evolution is everywhere. And it isn't "slow" or "prolonged." It is an ongoing process. There are observable changes in populations from year to year. To read more about evolution in action in an enjoyable format, I highly recommend "The Beak of the Finch" by Jonathan Wiener.

Also, can I find out where you got this quote from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, it's not true. It's a story sometimes seen on Creationist sites, but it's a fabrication. See: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/hope.html for a more through debunking. In short, the story goes that "Lady Hope" came to see Darwin as he was dying, and supposedly Darwin regretted coming up with evolution. Darwin's daughter outright denied this, and there's no evidence to indicate Darwin met "Lady Hope" on his deathbed. Also, it suggests that Darwin's theory is opposed to religion, which it's not.

this is wad i have doubt on bio, is not that i wanna ask something philosophy okay!!!!???? PLUS thats not my point! i just copied from somewhere to share it out!! thats the one that i found its neutral ok!! if u think this is about philosophy then why on earth its appearing on my BIOLOGY textbook?

The site you linked to is being dishonest. It contains many false and misleading statements. For examples, it describes Charles Darwin as a "racist" and takes an out of context quote from Darwin to show this. Another falsehood is it claims there are no transitional fossils. In reality, there are many transitional fossils. There's no reason a person has to give up faith in God to accept the fact of evolution. Please look into the science , and ignore those who tell you that evoluiton is atheist.

ohh really? thanks for pointing it out! :)
