Any good book suggestions for my summer reading assessment? Grade 10.

hmm.... The Catcher In The Rye by J. D. Salinger? tahahahaha :))

A reading habit in the first instance and always pushing forth to read, examples on Goodreads. (Otherwise we get into grade grubbing areas). You give no indicator what type of book you are required to read to reach Grade 10 Assessment. I live in UK can you tell me at what level is Grade 10? hope you get right books/approach.

Summer Reading Lists are normal part of Reading Life across the World. I would google a few. Academics will read a different lot for holidays than when they are working which is reading and evaluating books, Book Critics ditto. I would adopt intelligent approach of the former. Any ideas of study being a utilitarian exercise for grades is never a good one, you will want to do anything but study. I would gear book up for reading where you feel comfortable which is also intelligent and enjoyable. All good books do this.

You're best to pick something you might enjoy as others have mentioned. I can recall reading "The Hobbit" once for summer reading and continuing on to read "The Lord of the Rings." Poor Shakespeare and Caesar didn't stand a chance :) You'll want to read something that you can comment on when you are done, i.e. does it make a comment on society or something similar?

OH YEAH OSIRISIS!!!

<coughcough> I mean, agreed

"The Namesake" was good... so was "Interpreter of Maladies"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Lord of the Flies", only because you'll probably have a English Class in college that'll cover it.

"The Things they Carried" is a great one. Or "The Kite Runner". Both stories are extremely intense and often disturbing in areas, but it will keep you interested and focused to the book when surrounded with summer activities.

You only get as good answer as good as your question is. “Good” and there you go, leaving every book ever published a potential answer.

"from notting hill with love ... actually" is a great book, which I have just read. Depends on what age you are thought. I'm 16, so yeah, perfect for anything from age 15 to infinity I'd say (:

The Neverending Story - Michael Ende 100 Years of Solitud - Gabriel Garcia Marquez The Giver - Lois Lowry

It's Kind of a Funny Story - Ned Vizzini Looking for Alaska - John Green Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
