3x + 2y = 6 how do i graph this line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for x=0 y=3 for y=0 x=2 then draw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to draw a simple line you need 2sets of coordinates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for this answer, there gonna be 2 lines?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first point is (0,3) the second is (2,0) draw these and draw the line from the one to the other and then expand both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take an arbitrary x and plug itinto the equation to find its corresponed y take another x and do the same you will have (x1,y1),(x2,y2) put them on the x-y plane and connect the two points you will have a traight line

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i line is directed between 2 points; so we have to find at least 2 points to draw a line thru

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the x and y intercepts tend to be the easiest points to find; but any 2 points will work

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3x + 2y = 6 ; divide it all by 6 /6 /6 /6 ----------- x/2 + y/3 = 1 ; just read the intercepts from the denominators go 3 up on the y axis and make a point go 2 over on the x axis and make a point connect the 2 points
