i need to study for highschool, but im having trouble getting my self to actually study. im trying, but when i get on the desk, i have difficulty concentrating and tend to daydream and get bored. some tips to help me stay focused?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please do not give medals please, because that will change the question's status

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and im talking about, how to do long sessions at a time please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, I totally know how that feels. D': Actually, I find it's easier to study when I have people around me to make sure I study, lol. 8D Have you tried studying in a group?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are prone to distractions and daydreaming, long sessions are a bad idea anyway. Math, especially, you can do in short installments. Work on a particular section and then take a break (play xBox, Ps3, read, whaever you like to do). Then go back for another section. You'll find that your brain will still process the information you learned from the first section even while you are doing something away from the textbook. I was a horrible student in high school and had to learn to work with my own study issues in college...so this is from experience.

Of course, don't take really *long* breaks between the sections...just a small reward for sticking it out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, but i have to to long sessions, and i can take breaks, but games systems and computer games and social netwoking are off limits, so im on a tight leash right now.

THen you can balance the math studying with other subjects...crack opent he history text in between the math sections...if you spend took much time on just the math, it'll all start looking confusing.

I assume the rules are being set by your parents as a result of poor performance? if so, talk to them and explain the situation. tell them you are trying to make a change and what your proposal is. often times parents will listen to this as you're trying to do something to improve the situation.

Some thing that used to help me was to pick the questions apart. As in How could this have been rephrased, or could this be stated better. Several times the questions could have meant some thing other than the person asking the question intended. It was a way to trick my mind into staying on topic, just viewing the information in a different light.

no not poor performence...im asian...end of story. hehehe
