Hi , i have a doubt regarding hydraulic machine design... this one s using oil pressure.. it is designed for moving a rod up and down. The setup is working fine for faster speeds,But wat s needed s faster speed for going up and very slower speeed fr downward motion. Can yu suggest me any means for this speed adjustment??
Seems to me the easiest thing is to adjust fluid pressure to control speed, but if you are assuming the same fluid pressure for both up and downward motion you might consider some kind of directional resistance (if you have some flexibility in the materials or manufacturing). An example might be a rubber piece in the assembly which slides in one direction but resists motion in the other. Another thought is that you could make the rod non-uniform. Since force is pressure times area that could also help (smaller exposed area for downward motion could dramatically decrease applied force), but it all depends on the forces you are working with, the application, and your budget restrictions.
