how do you find the area of a triangle with a base of 13 inches and a height of 11 inches? If possible please show work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The formula for the area of a triangle is (1/2)*B*H, where B is the length of the base and H is the length of the height.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't really matter which side is used at the base, as long as the height is measured correctly. Whatever the base is, imagine drawing a perpendicular line to the opposite point of the triangle and that is the height.

so (1/2)13*11 (1/2)143 71.5

thanks guys!
