Is it possible to find the absolute value equation given coordinates and the vertex ? If so could somebody explain how ?

The general absolute value equation is in the form y = a|x-h|+k where (h,k) is the vertex. If you're given the vertex, you can immediately find h and k (and plug them in). To find the value of 'a', you would then plug in (x,y) (the given point, that's not the vertex, that lies on the absolute value graph) and solve for it.
