a=b+cd----------------solve for b

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

a=b+cd a-cd=b b = a-cd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a+b=2xz---------------------- solve z

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b = a-cd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

z=(a+b)/2x

Hey stace, do you want find out how to solve the problem or do you want other people to do your homework for you? :P

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\[\large a+b=2xz\] \[\large \frac{a+b}{2x}=z\] \[\large z=\frac{a+b}{2x}\]

Lol, @Bobby,,,, I understand what your saying but i learn beter that way....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its much easier if you learn it correctly. if its a+b you can just move them around as you please, if its ab, you're going to have to divide.

Ikr,,,,, but i have 3 more problems and ive been struggling with this ever since i was in math class

The best advice I can think of is when you're rearranging equation like this, don't think of it like you're moving things. You should think of it like you're doing the same thing to both sides. \[a=b+cd\] so subtract cd from both sides: \[a - cd = b + cd - cd\] simplifying will give you: \[a - cd = b\]
