If 2 vehicles are traveling at 60mph and 50 mph in opposite directions, what equation would you use to figure out how long it took them to be 330 miles apart? Please give details

lets call the first vehicle Car 1. The formula for its distance is: \[D_{Car1} = r_{Car1}*t \iff D_{Car1} = 60t\] Now lets do the same for Car 2. \[D_{Car2} = r_{Car2}*t \iff D_{Car2} = 50t\] We want their total distance apart to be 330 miles, so im going to add their distances together: \[D_{Car1}+D_{Car2} = 330 \iff 60t+50t = 330\] Then you just solve for t.
