You saw a shirt for $97. You didn’t have the cash, so you borrowed $50 from your mum and $50 from your dad = $100. You bought the shirt, and had $3 change. You gave your dad $1 and your mum $1 and kept the other $1 for yourself. Now you owe your mum $49 and your dad $49. 49+49 = 98 + your $1 = 99. Where is the missing $1?

tell them ishaan! tell em what they did wrong! lolol

Why did you add the $1? The $49+$49 refer to money you owe, and the $1 refers to money you have. They would add up to -$97 if anything, the cost of the shirt.

ah nothing like that the shirt is 97 and you owe 100 to your mom and dad that makes 50 each and 97/2 for the actual cost 48.5 that makes 48.5 +48.5 +2= 99 and one dollar is with you.

You counted your $1 twice and didn't count the $2 you gave back to your parent. You bought a shirt for $97 and kept $1. You owe them $98, they have the other $2. There is no missing money.
