√3y+7=7

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\[\sqrt{3y+7}=7\] \[3y+7=7^2\] \[3y+7=49\] \[3y=49-7\] \[3y=42\] \[y=\frac{42}{3}\] \[y=14\]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well you might be right if the equation is \[\sqrt{3y}+7=7\] instead. Could we get a confirmation on the exact problem please?
