3√x=-1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

If it's \[\sqrt[3]{x}=-1\], then cube both sides to get \[x=-1\] OR if it's \[3\sqrt{x}=-1\], then \[\sqrt{x}=-\frac{1}{3}\] which would mean that there are NO solutions (since the output of the square root function is either 0 or some positive number)

myininaya (myininaya):

thats right jim! :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

lol which one? Did we ever figure out what the actual exact problem was?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=1/9

myininaya (myininaya):

oh i thought it was the bottom one i didn't notice you wrote two problems lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah wasn't sure which one it was

myininaya (myininaya):

hey hahd its no solution
