Does math get easier? I am going into Algebra 1 and i am so bad at math. I try to study and study and sudy but nothing makes sense and i feel stupid. Tips?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if you need additional help, you could use websites that post videos on specific Algebraic concepts such as khanacademy.com.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I find PatrickJMT to be very good also. he does youtube videos and has a site PatrickJMT.com ... However he usually does higher math classes he does have some algebra it looks like... as you can see, his video selection is quite LARGE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any site for class IX study material for free

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any1 knows ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

class IX? whtat is that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

class IX means grade 9th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As long as you write down the notes "neatly" that you are being given in class, you should be fine. Math is a subject where you have to study before a test. If you need any help with a lesson or something you don't understand you can use websites like KhanAcademy but you also have OpenStudy!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the class studying... check that site i posted earlier PatrickJMT... he has all tons of stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

calc linear algebra trig, college algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

regular algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no there is not for grade 9th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kushashwa.. did you go to the site?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also with math, you have to LEARN to like the subject. You have to bring interest in learning it. If you dont bring that with you, then it will be harder for you to comphrehend the information..you'll start off with frustration.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i rember right, basic linear equations is algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and isn't that basically what hey teach in like 9th grade.. that and trig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldn't trig be considered the end of Geometry? Thats when I learned it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ehh trig is highly based off of triangle based geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so like law of sines and stuff you should have went a little bit over in geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I didn't find sin and cos that hard of a concept..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometry was proofs and agles a lot of it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it really isn't a hard concept.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah But I enjoyed alegbra better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha well you need both if you plan on going high into math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah but most math concepts use the basics of algebra rather than Geometry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not necessarily

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a lot of stuff in calc 1 can be based off of A^2+b^2=c^2 which is geometry/trig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

however you still need your algebra to solve it =]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but we do learn that in Algebra as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah in order to solve you need algebra but in order to understand what essentially they are doing, you need your trig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

algebra to solve, both in order to fuly understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I find a lot of times going how'd they get this formula because i didn't remember the stuff behind it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol yes..everything in math's connected..technically if your weaker at one point it could affect the rest of the concepts..But its not like anyone can master each concept in math perfectly as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true but it should be your goal to master as much if you want to go higher in math, like a math major or something.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hence why i'm here. Trying to remember all the stuff so that i can aply for tutoring next semester at my school. I was already asked to do it this semester coming up but i just don't believe that I'm ready to simply be able to answer every question that comes at me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Apparently those who aren't perfect in math..wouldn't neccessarily want to go for a higher major in Math.. Hmm thats interesting..keep it up ;) gud luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not quite nderstanding what you are getting at. Are you implying that people that aren't perfect in math should not try to achieve higher classes? I'm simply saying that in order to understand higher classes, you need to understand the fundamentals, not necessarily perfect them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. I am implying that most people would not want to go for further studies in Math when their not interested in it..Portion of this loss of interest in Math COULD be based on how much they can understand and accumulate its concepts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and as fundamentals i mean manipulations (Especially in calculus)... True, but as you can see emgracie97 seems to want to understand it even though she doesn't grasp it quite well. It depends on how well you take to not understanding something. Some people do say " THIS STUFF IS STUPID" while others have no idea what is going on yet "They really want to understand it"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes its true. I know students who would try to study and study to simply get math into their brains. They want to acquire their interest towards math through what they score on tests as well. There are always two sides: 1) People who have a desire to learn which could sometimes be because of the constant pressure of having good grades and scoring high OR 2) Ones who don't care at all, and think the concepts are useless.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like I was telling JimThompson earlier, I asked my teacher and SI weeks ago on how they derived the equation. The SI said I wouldn't worry about that, but it confused me and i simply continued to try to fully understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I could have just went with the SI and said o well i'll just do the math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or 3) People out of curiosity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used to be the person who just went by math classes because i could do the math and not understand the reasons... now i'm playing catchup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol..Well it depends on if you WANT to know the reasons..Factor of curiosity..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It also takes a good tutor to understand some concepts "Think of washermethod as a donut" hahahh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL true :P If you understand the concept..then only you can teach it
