Can anyone help me with this problem? "Identify the coefficient, degree, and end behavior of the function P(x)= -5x^4-6x^2+6"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The degree is simply the highest exponent of a variable in a function. Since x^4 is the highest, the degree is just 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The coefficient is just -5 because -5 is the number in front of the highest order term in the function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because the function is even and has a negative leading coefficient, the end behavior is tending towards negative infinity as the function approaches negative and positive infinity.

Ok. that makes sense
