can someone please help me out with a word problem that I have that I am not able to answer or figure out rather?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Andrew factored the expression 54x^3-30x^2+15 as 5x(9x^2-6x+3) . But when Melissa applied the distributive law and multiplied out 5x(9x^2-6x+3), she got45x^3-30x^2+15x ; thus, Andrew’s solution does not appear to check. Why is that? Please help Andrew to understand this better. Explain your reasoning and correctly factor the original expression, if possible. If the expression is prime, so state.

sorry i had already typed it in once and it obviously didnt post so i had to retype the whole thing all over again. I am so so sorry

Andrew was wrong in taking 5 as a common factor of the coefficients of respective terms in this case we can write this as 3(18x^3+10x^2+5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same here

okay... once i do that is that the way that i explain to andrew as to what he did wrong as far as that part goes for this problem
