how many revolutions does the space station make in an hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe the ISS makes one orbit of the earth in ~91 minutes. That is the approximate sign.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i might be wrong, but I think I heard it said that they see the sunrise every 45 minutes ... but then again, I was watching FOX :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats is correct Amistre64. Think about this as a picture, ISS always has one side facing the planet. Now the only time the space station cannot see the sun is when the earth is blocking it. Therefore they would see a sunset and 45 minutes later (half a revolution) the earth would no longer be blocking that ISS and it would see a sunrise. I believe that is what fox meant.
