OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the weight (in newtons) of a person who weighs 200 pounds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 pounds is equal to 4.4482216 newton

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we can do it like this \[2000(4.4482216/1)=\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry to many zeros but the conversion factor is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since we are only approximating anyway we can use 2.2 pounds per kilo and gravitation at 9.8 Newtons gives 890.9 Newtons (all at 1decimal place).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 480 newtons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would like to see your proof of that shiv

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shiv_nandan i think that u tried to use 1 lbs is equal to 0.45359237 kg by dividing that number by 200 you would get 440.9 but i think you have to use 1kg is equal to 2.2 divide into 200 you get 90.9 and mulitply by g=9.8(earth) and if i am not mistaken you get 890.9 N
