detail the process of polynomial division when the divisor is a monomial. Demonstrate the process with an example. How does this process change when the divisor is not a monomial?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a monomial is simply distributed thru the numerator and like terms cancel to simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the other two questions?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what are your thoughts about them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to show the process of an example and don't understand the last question

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the last question simply wants you to understand that it gets more complicated when the the denominator is not a monomial

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x^2+2x-3 --------- is an example, just split the top up with the denom and 6x simplify

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x^2 2x 3 --- + --- - --- 6x 6x 6x x 1 1 --- + --- - --- 6 3 2x

Thank you very much for explaining I was confused.
